" British classics"

I am enjoying the new series of " Masterchef the professionals" greatly. I love the way they talk about chefs needing to know all the french classics, such as sauce Bearnaise` , how to bone out a fish and crepes! In fact I made a lovely "Beuf a la Bourguignon" for Sunday supper.
However, let us not forget the great British classics, such as Angel Delight, Mr Kipling fondant fancies, Vesta chow mein and pot noodle, to name but a few!!

It's scary because it's so yummy even though it's probably horrendously bad for you! I love that photo though with the cute koala sitting in it!
These look so tasty!! I'm so glad you got the background working on your site, it matches this post perfectly!

thanks Karen, it's looking great with your background. I haven't quite got the width of the blog right yet, will have to work further on my pimping !!

Mmm, my mum used to make Butterscotch Angel Delight on a base of crushed biscuits and melted butter. I thought it the height of sophistication as a seven year old!

Anna, your mum is like mine, she used to make lemon meringue pie and creme caramel out of a packet and pink blamange in a rabbit mould!

Vesta meals were our staple diet when doing DofE many years ago. I never had angel delight as a kid but did find out at uni that the chocoalte one makes very scrummmy icecream with archers and lots of grated choc in. Hmmmm
