Vintage Pastels Summer Wedding.

With the wedding season in full swing, I've been enjoying designing lots of pretty and fun hats and hair accessories. I'm always trying to think up exciting ideas which use materials and supplies I already have in stock, to try and keep my supplies costs down. It's a battle though, as I'd rather buy millinery supplies than a new handbag and shoes for myself!! There is a leaning towards pastel shades in my etsy shop at the moment, though that will all change soon, with some new Harris tweed hatties in the making!!

New Cocktail Hats.

Cocktail hats are more popular than ever thanks to events like Royal weddings and the Queen's Royal Jubilee! and I am never short of ideas for making new designs! I like to think that mere mortals can buy an affordable hattie from the likes of yours truly, without having to spend hundreds of pounds with Queenie's milliner or another extremely famous hat maker, who shall remain nameless!
I've compiled a little collection to show off my designs which all use satin fabrics in their designs!
These are all available in my Etsy shop and a couple are also in my Folksy shop. Thank you for reading!!

Avening village life.

Buttercup meadow.
Mr T and I have lived in Avening for almost a year and we're still finding our feet in lovely Gloucestershire. One of my favourite walks is an almost daily trip to the local post office, where I always receive a warm welcome and a good banter! Then I take the long route home, through the back lanes. I've started taking my camera along to snap little gems on the way. "Fluffy" which is not her real name, is one of a group of Ferrel cats, looked after by a local lady in her stables. Fluffy does suffer with slightly tatty long fur, but otherwise all the cats are well cared for and shelter with the horses in bad weather! After my visit to the cats, I walk home through the meadow, which is full of buttercups in spring, then down through the church and home!

Fluffy the wonder cat!
You can just see the church!!

Beautiful blooms!!

Summer is here, although it's always an erratic time for the English weather with the usual sun, rain, sun, rain!! What can you do?? Never mind, at least I can get my retail therapy at the local garden centre in Nailsworth. Recently they were selling off these wonderful Clematis hybrids at three for the price of two. I don't know the exact names, but chose the biggest most colourful flowers. The friendly black cat joined in my photo shoot!!
This amazing bright blue will look great with my blue perennial geraniums!
