New "Ears" headbands.

Sales are very quiet this month in my shops. Could it be the rain? Could it be the Olympics? Who knows why things suddenly go quiet on the Internet. Maybe I have saturated my market or board everyone to death with my blog!!
All the same, I have been developing new designs and found new ways of constructing some of my headbands, using slimline gorgeous cotton covered millinery wire with delicate lace trims and fabric.
Super duper delux version!

Lulu lace cat ears, named after my "real" kitty!

Here's a taster of my new kitty cat and dormouse ears. For some reason, I don't enjoy making the mouse ears as much as the others!

Farewell my deers!

I'm off to Australia!
So, the last of my deer hats is sold out!! I started out with six of these little deer fawns, now I have non!! As you can see, there's a summer and winter version. I made the summery one to celebrate Frida Kahlo's birthday, I love her work!
Oh well, maybe I can try to buy a few more of them! I never know which supplies are going to be popular and take lots of risks, buying strange bits and pieces from all over the world. I was bidding on some small deer antlers on ebay, but kind of chickened out and "let" someone else bid over me. Let's see what I can come up with next!

A Burlesque star is born.

Wishing my daughter Talulah Blue a very happy Birthday today, hip hip hooray!!
Quite a few years ago, {I shan't say exactly how many!!} on this day, my daughter was born.
Amber Jade, which are her earthling names, was pretty, artistic, elegant, feisty and fierce from the word go. Life has thrown a few obstacles at her, during her childhood and over the years, but she grew and became strong, eventually to re invent herself as a fabulous Burlesque entertainer and event organiser!!
Obviously I'm very proud and would like to celebrate by showing you some of my favourite photos of Amber Jade, as she emerged as Talulah Blue. If you can make it to the next show date, there's live burlesque and music on August 26th, "Diamonds & Showgirls", at Just the Tonic, Granby street, Leicester! www.talulahblue.com Thank you for reading, catch you all later xox

Gateways into Avening.

After a morning working on my hats and fashion accessories, I often enjoy a stroll around the village with my camera, as a relaxing artistic treat, weather permitting!! It has rained such a lot this summer, that I really appreciate a sunny day!

I love the way pink roses creep over the top!

These exotic gates could lead to a courtyard garden!
I have noticed many doorways and gateways into hidden gardens and courtyards. I find this so intriguing, it brings to mind "The secret Garden". I decided to take a few photos of favourite gateways. I'm sure those of you who are residents of Avening will recognise some of these gateways! I will probably be taking pictures of vegetable gardens next time, before the summer comes to an end. Thank you for reading, back soon!!
Clematis Montana covers this archway and has pink blooms in spring!
Steep steps lead up to a metalwork gate with lamp!
Ornate ironwork make this gate eye catching!

Ooh here's my own back gate, with the archway of the church gates just in view!
