Happy Christmas!!

Hello everyone. I haven't had much time to write lately.
As we come to the end of 2010, so much has happened this year! Mr T and I were both made redundant from our day jobs and went through a frightening and emotionally tricky time. All that is behind us now, as we both have new jobs. I still work in the fashion design industry as always and Mr T has found bigger better employment in his neck of the woods. So Mr T begins his new career in banking in Wiltshire and as a result, our house is now up for sale, so we can re-locate. I won't be in my new job for long if the house sells fairly quickly and I'm going full time with my accessories and art shops. Yay, can't wait!! It has been a difficult year, but everything seems to be working out for us now! Happy Christmas and a peaceful new year to you all ♥

New corsages

I've gone a bit mad on making the organza peony corsages. I may still go shopping for some new colours though. There's something therapeutic about gently turning the organza discs over a candle flame! This is how I seal the edges and it helps to give a petal shape. Here's some photos of my latest peony's. The poinsettia style in my last post all sold out last weekend, so many thanks to all the buyers out there.

Merry Christmas

Is it just me or has this year flown by much faster than usual? Maybe it's me getting older, but I can barely keep up the pace!!
Maths is not my strong point, so I won't try to count how many shopping days there are left before Christmas. I have tried to keep my accessories shop as festive as possible, with reds, white and a best selling poinsettia corsage. Oh and not forgetting the cute mini Xmas stockings. All these are available in my folksy shop and some in my other shops. Today I'll be unravelling my tangled fairy lights and struggling with my unruly Christmas tree!! Thanks for viewing and merry Christmas to you all, have a good one ♥ Click on this link to find my folksy shop www.talulahblue.folksy.com

"Arsnic and old lace"

Okay, so there's not really any arsenic in my accessory designs, but there's plenty of vintage lace, mixed with new. Some of my new neck ruffles have a distinctively vintage feel about them, which is what made me think of the 1944 film with that name!

I'm gradually listing the neck adornments, which you can find in my Etsy or Folksy shops. They are one of a kind pieces, or OOAK as they like to say in Etsy!

Many thanks for viewing ♥

"Shy little birdies"

This weekend I decided to have a massive push at getting new hatties made. I couldn't wait to receive my pack of sweet little birdies through the post! I was inspired to make winter styles for this season, using warm and icy colours with berries and leaves. The birdies were a little shy at first, but now they're feeling cosy in their new surroundings. Don't be shy little birds, I'll look after you ♥ The bird hatties will soon be listed in my folksy and etsy shops, thanks for viewing xx

"Tiny Dancer!"

Talulah Blue is well on her way to launching herself as a fully fledged Burlesque performer. All things grow from a tiny seed and Talulah is no exception!! She began one new years eve as a girl visiting a London Burlesque night and this set off the spark. If you enjoyed my last post, you may delight in these new promotional photos of Talulah. See how the feather fans almost envelope her, as she is so petite!! Of course Talulah makes all her own props, including the vast feather fans, which can be made to order in many colours. Many thanks for viewing, catch you next time ♥ Visit Talulah's web site... http://www.talulahblue.com/

" Talulahblue is a real girl!! "

Talulahblue is no longer just a shop, selling accessories and Burlesque goodies, she has magically manifested into a beautiful swan!! Sounds like a fairytale doesn't it, but the story is true. I love a new fairytale as Autumn turns to winter. You can see a sneak preview of Talulah's first performance, recorded with music, click on the You Tube link in my side bar. Please turn up the volume to get the whole vintage style effect... Photo of Talulahblue by 658 creative. Courtesy of http://www.talulahblue.com/

It's been quite a while since my last post, but hey, here I am at last!!!

"As the leaves turn to red and gold"

Autumn is officially here! I have to admit, it's one of my favorite times of year. I haven't had much free time though to spend in my garden lately, what with the accessories and now, my folksy and etsy Art shops, which I'm very proud of!
Still, I have a couple of leafy photos of my potted grape vine, changing colour and my lace cap hydrangea, in full flower amongst the falling leaves.
Ooh and what is this? My pretty Autumn leaves corsage getting in on the act, for sale in my folksy shop.
Many thanks for reading, catch you all later ♥

" All the fun of the fur!!"

This winter, faux fur is going to be massive!! It's been all over the catwalks for the coming winter season.
I love to add my own take on accessories, with my personal interpretations and have come up with a few bits and pieces. My furry hat and hairband are made from left over scraps and off cuts from my fur wraps. Here's a few pics of what I have come up with. These are all available to buy in my folksy shop... www.talulahblue.folksy.com

Shabby Chic and nudes!

I have been very busy adding new stock to my Folksy shop this week. Recently, there have been requests for items to wear with this seasons nude shade of dresses. I have added lovey dove grey and latte hair accessories and a sweet dusky pink lined wrap. I couldn't resist making the sweet roses mini hat!! My hair stylist asked me to make her a dark grey hair clip, which I'm off to deliver as a gift today. This item was listed in my Folksy shop yesterday and sold in minutes! Not to worry, I've re-listed. I made one for myself, too! Many thanks for reading, here's a few pics ♥

" Spam spam spam!!"

Well, I haven't posted in a couple of weeks. I decided to change my format to a three collumn blog, not realising that nothing in life is simple. Suddenly my banner didn't sit in the correct place and then I couldn't get the background to load to the top of the page. To cap it all, I had to work out how to add moderation to my comments, so I can filter out those pesky spammers, who were driving me crazy, {gottcha!!!} So then I thought, oh dear my banner looks old and tired, so I made half a dozen new ones before I came up with this fresh breezy looking idea. Of course I then had to make another one the same for my folksy shop! My poor etsy shop looks like a half empy jumble sale, as there's no time to look after it properly, with sales from folksy soaring! I don't know what it is about etsy, but I can't seem to make a go of it, even though I love the site!
I have a feeling my Art shops will have the same outcome. Catch you all later ♥

Peony and pearls!

I absolutely love custom orders!! There is nothing quite like the joy of making a special item for a very special day, even more so when the order is for a bride!! I have been so lucky to have worked on several custom orders this year and would like to show off my latest.
This is an ivory organza peony corsage, with beading, freshwater pearls and silk thread stamens.
It ties around the waist with long satin ribbons, which hang down mixed with organza ribbons and secures with a brooch pin. Stunning!! This is now available to buy in my folksy shop. Many thanks for viewing...

Ditsy flower power

There's a lovely folk story running through the fashion pages at the moment. I love to see and wear ditsy florals and waft around in floaty maxi dresses on a summer's day. I have a few pretty ditsy's in my folksy shop at the moment and plan to add more. How about this pretty vintage lace edged shawl for a summer wedding!! Many thanks for viewing. I will be translating any comments posted in Chinese on this blog and reporting them as spam. Please don't click on the Chinese symbols, they are spam.

whole lotta wholesale!

I've sure been busy lately, well I have lost count of how many shops I've opened on-line. I have 3 very active folksy shops, one in etsy {promise to spend more time on!} and all the others around and about!!

This week, I have been working on a fab wholesale custom order, which includes these "Oh sooo pretty" leopard print hatties. See how they snuggle together for a chat!
I hope my client loves them!

Next time I'll show y'all the custom sash I'm working on for a blushing bride,
by for now, dear readers ♥

Butterfly flutterby!!

Summer is here with halcyon days and dreamy hot nights. I wish it would never end as I am a summer baby and can't bear the cold! There's nothing as pretty as a butterfly carried on the breeze as it makes its way accross my garden.
One butterfly I would like to let go of though is my purple fascinator, which is why I have her on SALE. She's reduced from £25.00 to £15.00 at the moment.
She's adorned with lovely gltter butterflies, nestling by a magenta diamante` and purple mini veil, so go snap her up, before the end of our Indian summer. Many thanks for viewing, enjoy the rest of your summer season ♥

find her in my folksy shop

Bespoke service

I was so pleased to receive a custom order from a bride recently. The wedding dress was ivory with black lace panels overlaid, very sophisticated.

I made a lovely cocktail hat to match and suggested a garter, which I already had in stock. The outcome is a stunning combination. I love making up custom orders, so do please get in touch if you need something to add the finishing " je ne sais quoi" to your outfit. Many thanks for viewing.

" Holiday time!!! "

Hi everyone, I'm sooo exited to be going to Cornwall. As always, I'll be packing up all my favourite projects, both my sewing and painting to get on with in the evenings, by the fire.
Here's a little view of the delights of Cornwall. See y'all when I return ♥
