There's no doubt that colouring is a therapeutic activity and colouring books are having a moment right now. There are some very intricate detailed works available, in the shops or as Internet downloads. Obviously there's no right or wrong way to colour, but I thought I'd share the way I prefer to colour using basic 12 shades staedtler coloured pencils. You can see from the images, I work from dark to light with the pencils, I find this works best for getting light and shade. Thank you for reading!

1) I use black and brown to add shadows and depth. |
2) I add the darkest reds and pinks. |
3) I add the lighter pink. |
4) Finally I add the lightest shades of pink and orange, then add the lighter tones to the leaves. |
